Joseph Bartucci

Owner & Stylist

What has been your career highlight so far?
I started my career as an editorial hairstylist in NYC. I’ve been passionate about fashion from a young age, so it felt natural to use my creative skills in that environment. Along with working NYFW, I also spent time in Europe working fashion weeks in Paris and Milan. This led me to begin doing campaign work for major fashion houses. After 10 years of fast-paced editorial work, I wanted to return to my hometown of Chicago and open my own salon. I designed and opened Bartucci Beauty in 2019, and my career highlight has been seeing my dream come to life and flourish with a team that shares my passion for beauty.
Describe your personal style or aesthetic.
I describe my aesthetic as classic meets eccentric urban renaissance. My daily wardrobe is inspired by the intersection of  high-end fashion and street style paired with utilitarian details. Shape, form, color and texture play a role in all of my stylistic choices.

When it came to designing the salon, my vision was to create a chic beauty oasis that feels warm and inviting. From the recessed ceilings to the soft lights, I want each guest to feel as though I’m welcoming them into my home. I was inspired by the design styles of Italy and France while working in Europe, but I also wanted to add a touch of Americana, so I designed the courtyard to reflect California landscapes.
What is your approach to doing hair?
I aim to create a hairstyle that is an extension of one’s personality, lifestyle, and natural hair texture. I opened Bartucci Beauty because I believe in creating a personalized and elevated beauty experience for every client.
